[p1]
Thurs. afternoon
[March 26 1936]
Dear Mom,
I received your letter today noon and certainly enjoyed. If we didn’t have exams next week I’d like to come home this week end and talk things over. I think that the way you changed the rooms around will probably be the best. The main reason I suggested the other way was to save work.
As for the radio, I certainly do wish we could have it for Easter. If we waited until we came home we wouldn’t probably be able to get it so that we could use it during the vacation. I think that if its all right with you and Mr. Anguish it would probably be better to order the Silver Marshall you have picked out with Elzie. I heard quite a bit about that make and know that it’s O.K. That way we could have it for Easter and we wouldn’t have to make a trip to Macomb. I really doubt if we’d do much better over there and we’d have to wait for it. However use your own judgement about it. I suppose that by the time you get this letter you’ll have the new furniture and have it all moved in.

I think that if I didn’t have exams next week I’d come home for the week end and could help you decide on the radio. However I think you can do it as well as I. That car deal sounds awful interesting and pretty good. I don’t suppose that you think we could afford them both. The car deal sounds awfull good and just what we’d want – a Tudor Touring, especially if the body, motor, and tires, are in good shape. I think a car with a trunk would be swell. However I’d hate to give up the radio. I was just thinking that if you thought we could manage both, I’d be glad to give up the suit for another year but I think that Chas. really needs one. That would pay for about ½ of the radio and I really don’t have to have it. All I really need is a pair of shoes, tie, and socks. What color is the car? If you trade for it be sure and don’t let the accessories on our old one go – the radio, light reflectors, and fender light. Also try to get another heater in the deal. We wouldn’t really be out the total amount since we would have a better trade in value if we wanted to trade again later. In my opinion the 35’s are practically as good as the 36’s and as far as the motor etc is concerned they are the same. Let me know what you do about both the car & radio.
Love
Tom
P.S. I think that I’ll have to come back to school on Easter Mon. as the choir has to get ready for the operetta & the inauguration of Bishop Adrian.
